Freedom of speech, wow, the internet has made it possible for people to use this to their full advantage. Look at me I have this blog, but some take it to far.
I am developing a dislike against TMZ and Harvey Levin.
I think, no I know that Harvey has turned his website into a personal blog against Mel Gibson. If this latest "news story" is true, then he and all those involved are just promoting unforgiveable, ignorant hate.

12 Steps

The 12 Suggested Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol--that our lives had become unmanageable.

Hollywood, Actors, and Scandals Oh My!

In 1992 the biggest scandal to hit Hollywood, via New York was Woody Allen ending his long term relationship with Mia Farrow for adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Everyone swore that his career was over and that noone would want to work with him ever again.
Fast forward to 2006 and most dont even remember the scandal and Woody is still making movies and doing just fine with Soon-Yi.
The scandal surround Mel is nothing compared to marring the adopted daughter that you helped raise.
The media, especially TMZ.com, needs to get a grip on reality.
It's time to Forgive and Forget.

What's wrong with everybody?

Here's the thing, how many times does Mel have to say he's sorry? Mel made personal phones calls the other day to several people apologizing for his anti-semitic remarks. Apparently that still isn't enought for some people. http://www.tmz.com/2006/08/24/mel-phones-jews-im-really-sorry/

Just put yourself in his place for a moment, he's embarassed, humiliated, and scared, worried about his career. He is a very talented actor and I think a great director with so much more to give to the world.

August 22 has always been a good day for me. I went to college on August 22, met my husband on August 22, got married on August 22(17 years today) Now today August 22, I received in the mail an autograph picture and thank you note from Mel Gibson. ****
When I heard about Mel being arrested for a DUI I felt bad for him. It's horrible enought to make a mistake and one person know about it, just image the whole world knowing what you did wrong. So I sent him a gift, nothing big just a card and a Three Stooges dvd. (I'm a nurse, it's in my blood to try and make people feel better).
I did this because I wanted to. I was not expecting it to reach him or to receive anything in return. I just wanted him to know that everything would be okay.
This is why I like Mel Gibson, he did not have to go out of his way at a time like this and send me anything, he's a good guy who just made a mistake like we all do.
Thanks Mel, I am forever a devoted fan!

Pink Defends Mel

Pink jump to the defence of Mel Gibson, insisting he should be forgiven for making anti-Semitic remarks. She says: "I'm a fan of his work. I think anybody with opinions like that needs well-wishing. And I'm Jewish. Alcohol makes you do crazy things."

It's Over

Mel pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge of drunk driving and was sentenced to probation with a requirement that he spend the next year in an alcoholism rehabilitation program. He was also fined $1,300 and with additional court fees brought his total to $1,568 dollars. His license is restricted for 90 days.

Judge Lawrence J. Mira noted approvingly that Mel had offered to make a public service message for broadcast, warning against the dangers of driving while impaired. The judge also noted that Mel had already engaged in an “extensive’’ amount of rehabilitation.
As part of the sentence, Mel is required to attend a 12-step program five times a week for the next 4 ½ months, and to continue attending three days a week for the rest of the year.

That being said, I think everyone should be forgiven for almost anything. I think what people do in a drunken stupor has to be addressed as someone who's drunk.

Kurt Douglas

According to http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3541892 Screen legend Kurt Douglas had his own opinion about Mel Gibson. He says that Mel need too speak with Catholic church leaders before speaking with members of the Jewish faith. He also feels that "Mel is in a mess" but he does not think he is anti-Semitic.

I can't tell if this is a good thing or not. Personally I feel if Mel wants help from the Jewish community then more power to him. He knows that it can only help him to understand the people and their beliefs. It's something that more of us should try and do before judging others.
